Ft Lauderdale Water Heater Dampened the Carpet
The water heater leak flowed some water into the adjacent living room area. It was not a significant amount of water, but to preserve the carpet and padding, it was critical to quickly remove the moisture before it soaked into the tack board, baseboards, and the drywall. We ran a wet vac over the moist area to suction out most of the water. We then "floated" the carpet; our SERVPRO tech carefully separated the material from the edges, and we used several air movers to increase the circulation and quickly dry out the concrete base. Fortunately, the padding was relatively untouched by the water. The following afternoon we returned, restretched the carpet onto the tack strips, and the owner was very pleased, "Like it never even happened."
